Eileen Swanson grew up in San Ramon, CA,  Since the age of 2 Eileen Swanson has always been extremely active. Her parents enrolled her in swim lessons, dance, ballet, and gymnastics by the age of 4. It was in gymnastics that Eileen found her niche. She flourished into an elite level gymnast and trained at the highly renowned Karolyi's gymnastics club in Houston , Texas . After a successful career at the elite level, Eileen was given a full ride scholarship to the University of Washington.

After two seasons with the Huskies and receiving the Rookie of the Year honor, Eileen transferred to UCLA to finish out her gymnastics career. A graduate of UCLA Class of 1997, Eileen found triathlon as a means to satisfy her hunger and drive for competition. In only her second season in the sport, Eileen managed to qualify and compete representing Team

USA in the 1999 World Championships in Montreal Canada. In 2000, she began a full time career as a Business Analyst at SBC. With minimal training Eileen still managed to place high enough to gain professional status. In 2007 Eileen decided to race as an Amateur once again as she pursued her career as a full time Senior Commodity Manager at Oracle.

In August of 2008 Eileen decided to leave Oracle and make coaching and racing as a professional her full time job. Look for Eileen to have an exciting breakthrough year in 2009.
