USAT Rules: Run Conduct: Permitted and Illegal Equipment

This week’s rule is Article 6.3 — Permitted and Illegal Equipment.

The rule repeats the prohibition against personal audio devices previously
discussed in Article 3.4i.  Participants may not carry or use any radio or
music producing device on the run. The rule allows the use of a water
bottle on the run, but the water bottle must not be made of glass.

Here’s the rule:

6.3 Permitted and Illegal Equipment.

Any participant who at any time wears or carries a headset, radio,
headphones, personal audio device, or any other item prohibited by Section
3.4(i) shall be subject to a time penalty. A participant may carry a water
bottle on the run portion of the course, provided that such container is
not made of glass. Glass containers are prohibited.
